Why Magazine Printing?
Magazines are generally published on a regular schedule, containing a variety of articles and adverts. Magazines are usually financed by means of advertising, purchase price, pre-paid magazine subscriptions, or even all three. Magazines can be distributed through the mail; through sales by newsstands, bookstores or other vendors; or through free distribution at selected pick up locations.
The pages of a magazine are printed in sections, with 16 pages or more. These sections are then bound, either by stapling them within a soft cover in a process referred to as “saddle-stitching”, or by gluing them together to form a spine, a process often called “perfect-binding”.
You can choose to print your magazine in black-and-white, spot colour or full colour, and to add that extra bit of class, you can even have finishes like spot UV, embossing or foiling. The thickness and quality of the paper you use to print your magazine is also very important – it should be of top quality – especially if you want your magazine to be sturdy. There is a big variety of inexpensive quality paper that you can buy, just make sure you use the right paper for your magazine’s needs.
